Nucléaire : l’Elysée évoque « une première mise en service » des réacteurs EPR2 « d’ici 2038 » au lieu de 2035
The French government now anticipates the first of six new EPR2 nuclear reactors to be operational by 2038, a delay from the previously stated target of 2035. The project's financing, which will include a state-backed loan covering at least half of the construction costs, was discussed. The government aims to finalize discussions with EDF and begin talks with the European Commission, targeting a final investment decision by EDF in 2026. The project is estimated to cost under €100 billion.
